2nd Annual

Holiday Art Competition

Highlight your artistic talents while contributing to the quality of your community and its waters by submitting an image for Greater Gallatin Watershed* Council’s (GGWC’s) 2010 holiday card contest!

The competition is open to professional and amateur artists of all ages, for holiday card artwork that includes some type of water element (e.g., snow, icicles, stream, etc.), capable of being produced as a 4”x6” printed card. Style may be classic, contemporary, or whimsical. No text is necessary. A cash prize will be awarded to the top three winning artist(s), and the top 10 entries will be displayed (with artist info) at the Bozeman Angler during the Christmas Stroll and during GGWC’s January annual meeting and auction. Submittals are due July 30th, 2010.

Demonstration Rain Garden

The rain garden was installed, Saturday, June 19th. We hope you can stop by to take a look, pick up a Gallatin Watershed Rain Garden Resource Guide, and start planning how to plant a rain garden in your own yard!

Still to come: an educational sign, benches, and edging around the garden. If you are interested in future rain garden activities, please let us know

Rain Barrels 2010

This year the Greater Gallatin Watershed Council and Aaron's Rain Barrels donated three barrels to area organizations and schools, a second grade class at Irving Elementary School, Bozeman Youth Initiative, and Art Splot. Click here to see the barrels from Art Splot and Irving Elementary.The barrels will be installed at the Irving Elementary School Garden an the City of Bozeman's Community Garden located at 121 N. Rouse. The final barrel will be retrofitted to fit inside the Bozeman Youth Initiative's Greenhouse Bus.
