We at the Greater Gallatin Watershed Council are delighted to be joined by two new board members in recent months. They strengthen our business presence and ties to rural communities.

The first is Michael Bertrand. Mike is the Resource Specialist at the Gallatin Conservation District, focusing on education and outreach. He earned his BS in biology at the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point and completed his teaching certification at Montana State University. He loves working with kids, so it’s not surprising that most of his professional life has included outdoor education, traditional classroom education, online schooling, and curriculum development. His favorite pastimes include travel, canoeing, gardening, keeping a seed bank, and cooking. Mike lives on the northwest end of the Gallatin Valley with his wife and daughter.

Our newest board member is Jan Paul. Originally from the Chicagoland area, Jan has over 18 years of experience working in the gaming industry. As a pit boss and trainer for Harrah’s Entertainment, Argosy, and Jack Binions’ Horseshoe, she developed excellent communication and customer relation skills. Recently, Jan has worked a realtor for over 12 years in Montana and Florida. When Jan’s not working, she is following her passion for volunteering and fundraising for many organizations, including the American Cancer Society, Habitat for Humanity, and Meals on Wheels. She is a longstanding member of the Loyal Order of Moose. Jan livens up GGWC’s board meetings and will be spearheading a new fundraising campaign.
