We have some big waders to fill.. and we need your help!

You know what we all have in common? The need for clean water. As our Valley goes through a time of unprecedented growth, maintaining healthy streams and rivers is becoming an even bigger challenge. This is why the Greater Gallatin Watershed Council needs your help.

Today, we’re launching our 2018 Year-End Campaign.  Our goal is to raise $7,000 by December 31st to strengthen our efforts to maintain and enhance the health of the Lower Gallatin River and all of its tributaries. GGWC is responsible for guiding local plans and policies and we are the link between on the ground programs and projects and statewide agencies and NGOs.

These are some big waders to fill!

This year, we have begun developing three major projects in response to needs we’ve identified by listening to our community: The Watershed Stewards Program, Drought Talks, and a Watershed Restoration Inventory.

  • The Watershed Stewards Program goal is to inspire individuals, schools, and business to participate in actively improving the Gallatin Watershed, and then honor these efforts to harness the power of collaborative community action.
  • Drought Talks will be a series of facilitated meetings between the major water user groups in the Lower Gallatin Watershed.  Each group is taking steps to prepare for drought, but there is a need for coordinating these efforts and identifying opportunities to collaborate.
  • The Watershed Restoration Inventory will serve as a database and visual tool to capture information about stream restoration projects throughout the watershed, help identify progress towards goals listed in the Lower Gallatin Watershed Restoration Plan, and better inform future restorations and land use planning.

Your donation will help to ensure that these programs are a success. GGWC is positioned to step up, grow, and do more for YOU by ensuring that the water that we all cherish and need is healthy and clean.

Please consider making a special year-end donation of $10, $50, $100 or whatever you can afford to help us meet our goal and grow to fill our big waders! Click HERE to make your donation now.

Thanks for your support and advocating for the health and conservation of our rivers and streams!

In gratitude,
