The Greater Gallatin Watershed Council is partnering with the Gallatin Valley Land Trust and over 15 other local organizations to form the Gallatin Valley Conservation Partnership.

The partnership was awarded $3.8 million from the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) to protect the agricultural heritage, productive soils, and vital streams of the Gallatin Valley.

This is a five-year funding pool (2015-2019) and will go directly to landowners to create conservation easements and implement stewardship projects on farms and ranches in the Gallatin Valley.

The goal of this program is to enhance water quality, soil health, and water quantity on important agricultural lands. The priority areas for these projects are the East Gallatin River and Camp Creek.
