The Lower Gallatin Watershed Restoration Plan

Lower Gallatin Watershed Outline

Throughout the year, the Greater Gallatin Watershed Council has heard from residents of the Lower Gallatin Watershed about the importance of local streams, concerns for water quality and stream health, and ideas for potential restoration projects. We have taken the input you provided and created the Lower Gallatin Watershed Restoration Plan, a document that will serve residents of the Gallatin Valley for years to come by identifying the community’s priorities for watershed health and enabling interested landowners to implement stream restoration projects on their properties.

The Lower Gallatin Watershed Restoration Plan will be submitted to the Montana Department of Environmental Quality in December 2014. Once approved by the DEQ, the Plan will allow GGWC and other organizations in the Lower Gallatin Watershed to apply for 319 grant funding from the Environmental Protection Agency to implement water quality improvement projects throughout the watershed.

Now is your chance to review the Lower Gallatin Watershed Restoration Plan before it is finalized and submitted. Click here to download the document. Please send comments to info@greatergallatin.org by November 6 or call us at 406-551-0804.
